Simple aspects of FS2002 - How do I ....?
Choose or change my
aircraft, location, weather, or time of flight
To choose your
aircraft, location, weather, or time of flight before
beginning a flight:
1. Choose Create a Flight on the Welcome page of Flight
Simulator 2002.
2. Youll be given four options. Choose Current Aircraft,
Current Location, Current Weather, or Current Time Click
the Change tab beneath the option you've chosen.
3. Follow the onscreen prompts.
4. Click OK.
5. Click the Fly Now tab when you're ready to fly.
To change your
aircraft, location, weather, or time of flight during a
flight:
To change your
aircraft:
1. Select the Aircraft menu located at the top of your
screen.
2. Choose Select Aircraft.
3. Follow the onscreen prompts.
To change your
location:
1. Select the World menu located at the top of your
screen.
2. Choose Go to Airport.
3. Follow the onscreen prompts.
To change your
weather:
1. Select the World menu located at the top of your
screen.
2. Choose Weather.
3. Follow the onscreen prompts.
To change the
time of your flight:
1. Select the World menu located at the top of your
screen.
2. Choose Time and Season.
3. Follow the onscreen prompts.
Change The Tail
Number, Aircraft call sign and Flight Number of and
aircraft
To change the
aircraft Tail Number:
1. Select the Create a Flight link from the Navigation
bar on the left.
2. Select Change Current Aircraft.
3. Choose the aircraft that you want to change the tail
number.
4. Select Change ATC Name.
5. Type in the Tail Number that you prefer
6. Select OK
To change the
aircraft Call Sign:
Note: Flight Simulator only recognises the call
signs that it was already programmed with originally e.g.
American Pacific -or- Orbit ect. Any other call signs
that you give an Aircraft while editing the CFG file will
not be recognised and therefore the ATC will not say them.
1. Select the Create a Flight link from the Navigation
bar on the left.
2. Select Change Current Aircraft.
3. Choose the aircraft that you want to change the tail
number.
4. Select Change ATC Name.
5. Select your preferred Call sign
6. Select OK
To change the
aircraft Flight Number:
1. Select the Create a Flight link from the Navigation
bar on the left.
2. Select Change Current Aircraft.
3. Choose the aircraft that you want to change the tail
number.
4. Select Change ATC Name.
5. Type in your preferred Flight Number
6. Select OK
Create an IFR
Flight Plan
To Create an IFR
Flight Plan:
1. Select the Create a Flight link from the Navigation
bar on the left.
2. Select Change Current Aircraft and choose the aircraft
of your choice. Click OK when you have chosen the
aircraft
3. If you wish select Change the Current Weather to
change the current weather locally or global.
4. Select Flight Planner
5. Select your Departure Airport and Destination Airport
by clicking the Select buttons. Click OK when finished
6. Select IFR
7. Choose Whether your flight plan will be Direct GPS
(The most direct route to the destination), Low
Altitude Airways (below but now including 18000 feet,
following selected Waypoints {See Below}On Victor Airways),
High Altitude Airways (Between 18000 feet and
45000 , following selected Waypoints {See Below}On Jet
Airways), VOR to VOR (Following a route by following from
one VOR to another)
8. Choose your exact Altitude depending on what you chose
above.
9. Edit the waypoints if you wish by selecting Delete
Waypoint and dragging the red line to a red dot (facilities
e.g airports) or a green dot (intersections) When
dragging the red line to an intersection may sure you
have the Show Intersections button (located at the top of
the screen) enabled.
10. Click Save
